Important SAT/ACT Math Formulas

V(cylinder)= πr²h
SA= surface area
SA(cube)= 6s²
SA(rectangular solid)= 2lw+2wh+2lh
V=Volume
V(cube)=s³
V(rectangular solid)= lwh

How do you find the total degree measure in a polygon?
Total degree measure= (n-2)180	where n= # of sides
Measure of 1 angle in a regular polygon= (n-2)180/n

If you know 2 sides in a right ?, how do you find the 3rd side?
		A²+B²=C²

Averages
Average = (sum of all elements )/(# of elements )
Weighted Average
Ex. In 10 equally weighted tests Sam earns an 80 on 3,
70 on 4 and 90 on 3. Find his average.
       3/10 (80)+4/10 (70)+3/10 (90)=24+28+27= 79
           		-OR-
       (3(80)+4(70)+3(90))/10=79
Distance
D=rt
R is measured in km/h or mph…
Average Rate= (Total Distance)/(Total Time )
Sometimes, you need to set up 2 D=rt.
Ex ; Plane A travels 200 mph and Plane B travels 350 mph.
If they start at opposite ends 1500 miles apart,
how long does it take for them to meet?
For A: D= 200t 		For B: D=350t
200t +350t= 1500 D=350t  t=2.73
