SAT II Literature Terms-

1. Couplet-a 2 line rhyme unit with same meter

2. Quatrain-4 line stanza or poem

3. Sestet-a stanza or poem in 6 lines

4. Octave-8 line stanza

5. Sometalian Sonnets/Petrarch Sonnets-contain an octave followed by a sestet

6. Assonance-repetition of vowel sounds

8. Ballad-long narrative poem that describes a single event

a. Can contain quatrains
