Vertical asymptote:
Set denominator equal to zero and solve for x

Zeros/roots/where does y equal zero/where does function cross x axis/solutions
Set numerator equal to zero

Horizontal asymptotes; y= lines
If largest exponent is the same in numerator and denominator, horizontal asymptote is the ratio of the leading coefficients

If the highest exponent in the denominator is larger than highest exponent in numerator, then horizontal asymptote is y=0

If highest exponent in numerator is larger than highest exponent in denominator, then there is no horizontal asymptote.
